Larchfield

Sketch designs for front garden in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. This property is located on the edge of Knaresborough and has a rural feel, being surrounded by existing hedgerows, fields and lanes. The clients wanted ideas that would give some structure to their existing garden whilst providing privacy from the front lane. The first proposal consists of a formal grass area contained by a gravel path and surrounded by informal shrub and perennial planting and a meadow; focal points draw the eye from various locations and native hedgerows provide screening along the boundary. The second proposal consists of several different areas, each with its own geometry and features but linked by one route through all of them; a native hedgerow screens the property along the boundaries and informal planting encloses each area.
