Fisher Residence

Sketch designs for a new gate and fence and redesign of paving in front garden. The client has long admired the simple, direct beauty of Japanese design and had incorporated elements of Japanese style into the back garden and house. The new gate and fence in the front garden were inspired by the elegant and elemental forms of traditional Japanese houses with their clear structural expressions. The existing concrete path was relaid with existing concrete pavers and some new granite pavers, bound together at the house and fragmenting into stepping stones near the sidewalk. The stepping stones were set in crushed gravel and edged with existing bricks to create a more natural, relaxed feel.
